(07:56) MONTEREY COUNTY – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it is relaunching its Explorer Program. The program is designed for young adults who are interested in a career in law enforcement. It teaches participants various skills including how to understand radio codes and handle high stress situations. The Sheriff’s Office dismantled the program in 2011 due to budget cuts. It has been brought back with the goal of bringing in more local recruits. Anyone interested in the program is invited to attend an open house event at the Sheriff’s Office Friday night, beginning at 6:30. (S.G.)
