February 25, 2016: Salinas Man Pleads Guilty to Murder, Robbery, Assault on Halloween

(07:38) MONTEREY COUNTY – A Salinas man has pleaded guilty to murder, robbery and assault stemming from a crime spree on Halloween in 2014. Officials say 21-year-old Anthony Romero fatally shot Paul Chung after robbing him and his wife at Creekside Monument Park. He then drove to Castroville, where he robbed a juvenile and attempted to rob two other men. When the men tried to run away, Romero opened fire on them, striking one of the victims. Romero then returned home where he hit a man with his vehicle. He faces 40-years-to-life in prison when he is sentenced April 15. (S.G.)
