(08:03) CALIFORNIA – Gas prices have fallen sharply in California. The average gas price in the state today is $2.49 per gallon, which is a $0.36 decrease in one month. The drop in gas prices is being attributed to high gasoline inventories and continued production. February marks the beginning of increasing demand for gasoline and the start of the spring refinery maintenance season. But since both gasoline and crude oil supplies are at record levels, gas prices are expected to remain near their lowest point since the Great Recession. (S.G.)
