(Updated at 10:10) – Police have identified a woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Salinas earlier this week. The crash occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday on the 1500 block of North Main Street. Officials say 64-year-old Kathleen Risler was crossing the roadway when she was hit by a 39-year-old man driving northbound. Risler was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver remained on scene and has been cooperative with investigators.
