(06:55) SALINAS – A school in Salinas has changed its name following years of controversy. Tiburcio Vasquez Elementary School has been criticized for using the name of a bandit who was convicted of murder and hung for his crimes. Last summer, the Monte Bella Community Association requested a name change. On Wednesday, the Alisal Union School District Board of Trustees voted to change the school’s name to Monte Bella Elementary. The change went into effect immediately. (S.G.)
