(1655) SANTA CRUZ – Santa Cruz patrols officers arrested a man on suspicion of possession of narcotics and weapons on Saturday after receiving a tip about a suspicious vehicle. The suspect, a young male, had heroin and a digital scale in his pockets. Police discovered the suspect was on parole. In the backseat of the vehicle, officers located a .22 caliber ATI handgun, as well as a magazine case and ammunition. Bolt cutters, a torch, and an air bag car door opener were found as well. The suspect was booked into jail. Officers have yet to determine whether he was in possession of stolen items.
