(07:20) CASTROVILLE – Two people were arrested and one other is being sought following a high-speed chase in Castroville on Friday. The incident occurred when deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle around 10:30 p.m. near Merritt and Salinas streets. The driver failed to stop and led deputies on a pursuit. He eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a curb. Deputies arrested the driver, 19-year-old Martin Arango-Cruz, and one of his passengers, a 17-year-old boy. A second passenger fled the scene and was not located. A search of the vehicle recovered two loaded firearms. Arango-Cruz was booked into Monterey County Jail and the 17-year-old was transported to Juvenile Hall. (S.G.)
