(08:36) CENTRAL COAST – Fire officials on the Central Coast are advising residents to take steps to prevent fires this Thanksgiving. Fire crews receive numerous calls on the holiday due to cooking fires. Cal Fire suggests residents stay in the kitchen while frying, grilling or broiling food and recommend regularly checking on food that’s simmering, baking or roasting. The public is also being advised to make sure a fire extinguisher is always at hand and to never use water to put out a grease fire. (S.G.)
