(07:03) SANTA CRUZ – A man suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Santa Cruz Monday afternoon. The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Soquel Avenue and Cayuga Street. Officials say the 25-year-old victim was in the crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle being driven by a 57-year-old woman from Watsonville. The man was transported to a trauma center in Salinas. The driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with officers. Soquel Avenue at Cayuga was closed off while police investigated. The roadway was reopened by 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. (S.G.)
