(07:57) WATSONVILLE – Pajaro Valley water officials are close to completing four new monitoring wells. Over the course of a month, crews have been drilling in downtown Watsonville to access four subterranean aquifers. The monitoring wells will enable water managers to accurately measure groundwater levels and quality. The new wells cost PV Water $175,000, which has been covered by state grants for emergency drought response efforts. (S.G.)
