(09:35) HOLLISTER- The Hollister Police Department has been awarded a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The $61,500 grant will be used to fund a year-long special enforcement s program, following a recent rise in traffic injuries and fatalities involving pedestrians and bicyclists. The program will include safety presentations, bicycle and pedestrian code enforcement, motorcycle safety, distracted driver issues, proper child seating, along with DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols.
