(UPDATE) October 15, 2015: Cienega Fire 60 Percent Contained

(Updated at 06:39) – The Cienega fire in San Benito County is now 60 percent contained. The blaze has burned 600 acres south of Hollister and west of Paicines. There are over 550 fire personnel working to extinguish the blaze and crews hope to have the fire fully contained on Friday. No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged.

The blaze was reported around 4 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Cienega and Limekiln roads west of Paicines. The fire has since grown to 600 acres. Over 250 firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported and no structures are threatened.

(Posted October 13 at 08:19) SAN BENITO COUNTY – The Cienega Fire near Hollister has now burned 300 acres. The blaze was reported around 4 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Cienega and Limekiln Roads near Paicines. Over 250 firefighters are working to extinguish the fire. No injuries have been reported and no structures are threatened. The cause of the fire is under investigation (S.G.)
