(17:52) CAPITOLA- A meeting on a proposed bike lane for Monterey Ave in Capitola raised issues for the City Council Thursday night. The proposed project would eliminate 99 parking spaces to complete the bike lane which would service New Brighton Middle School and the adjacent neighborhoods. However many residents voiced concerns over losing the parking spaces, which were described as inadequate for the area, because many of the areas dwellings are rented to students, or have home health care needs that require additional parking. City official will now spend time examining other proposals and consider a peak traffic anaysis study.
