(UPDATE) October 9, 2015: Salinas Murder Suspect in Custody Following Standoff

(Updated at 06:18) – A man wanted for murder was arrested in Salinas Thursday following a standoff with law enforcement. 23-year-old Brad Azcona is suspected of killing 44-year-old Ramon Herrera in Chinatown last month. He is also a person of interest in the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Carlos Robles. Yesterday, investigators determined that Azcona was inside a home in North Salinas. The residence was surrounded by a SWAT team and crisis negotiation teams for several hours before Azcona surrendered to authorities. (S.G.)

(Posted October 8 at 20:11) SALINAS – The Salinas Police Department has announced Thursday that it had confirmed murder suspect Brad Azcona was surrounded by the SWAT team in a North Salinas residence. At about 5:15 p.m. the department issued a statement saying that crisis negotiation teams, along with a behavioral health team were also on scene. Azcona is wanted in connection with a murder in Chinatown and for the killing of a North Salinas High School student. (P.M.D.)
