(08:07) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A trial date has been set for a Soquel man accused of murder. In 2011, 32-year-old Eric Weers allegedly drove into oncoming traffic on Highway 17 and intentionally crashed into a car being driven by 48-year-old Ana Barajas. The case was delayed while the court worked to replace a forensic psychologist to evaluate the defendant’s mental health. The suspect’s trial date was set Wednesday to November 2. Weers faces 15 years in prison if convicted. (S.G.)
