(09:43) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A Santa Cruz man has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder. 19-year-old Christian Lopez Cruz is suspected of shooting a man near Ocean and Water streets late last month. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Lopez was apprehended shortly after in San Lorenzo Park. He also faces assault, gun, and gang charges in connection with the incident. Lopez has previously been convicted of attempted murder. He is due back in court December 7 for a preliminary hearing.
