(08:24) SALINAS – The death of a Salinas Valley State Prison inmate is being investigated as a homicide. Earlier last week, 45-year-old Pedro Aguilar was found unresponsive in his cell. He was pronounced dead shortly after. Aguilar’s cellmate, 59-year-old Jerald Nelson, is now being held in connection with his death. Aguilar was serving a life term for lewd acts on a child and Nelson is serving life for first-degree murder. (S.G.)
