(20:57) SOLEDAD-The city of Soledad has experienced a recent rise in home burglaries. Police say that the spike in burglaries appears to coincide with the start of the school year. Investigators say this leaves empty homes targets for thieves. It is believed that the burglars knock on the door to determine if anyone is home before breaking in. Residents are asked to be on the look out for suspicious activity, lock doors and windows, leave an appliance such as a radio on, or if an alarm system is installed remember to use it.
