(22:45) SOLEDAD- A riot broke out in Salinas Valley State Prison yesterday (Thursday) morning. Authorities say that the riot involving 90 inmates started after a fight started in a maximum security yard at 9:45 a.m. guards used pepper spray and non lethal force to stop the riot. Several handmade weapons were seized and two inmates received slash wounds and had to transported to outside trauma centers. The cause of the incident is being investigated.
