(16:37) KING CITY – A state assemblyman has requested an audit of the King City Police Department. On Monday, local assembly member Luis Alejo said that the request is in response to several unlawful acts by former officers. The Joint Legislative Audit Committee will hold a hearing tomorrow to take the request into account. If the committee deems the audit necessary, then the California State Auditor will review the department, to better understand when and how the corruption occurred. Newly appointed Police Chief Ron Fogue, promised to bring about transparency and accountability to the department, so the community’s trust can be restored.
