(10:25) MONTEREY – A Monterey man was arrested Wednesday morning for theft and drug possession. 49-year-old Jeff Donald Hamilton is accused of stealing equipment from a construction site in Castroville. The stolen property was recovered at a recycling center. Investigators identified Hamilton while reviewing surveillance footage from the recycling center. Deputies served an arrest warrant at Hamilton’s home on the 200 block of Montecito Street. A search of the residence recovered methamphetamine and a police scanner. Hamilton was booked into county jail. (S.G.)
