August 5, 2015: Local Farmers are Reducing Water Usage

(12:01) PAJARO VALLEY – The President of the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau announced a decrease in water usage for Pajaro Valley famers. According to President David Van Lennep, compared to last year, well water use is down by 19-percent. The Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency and farmers used more recycled water during recent months and have conserved ground water thanks to a water recycling facility that delivered 2,470 acre feet of recycled water to growers along the coast. Farmers were able to reduce well pumping by 40-percent year to date.
