(12:38) SALINAS – A major water main upgrade is underway in Salinas. The installation of a 12-inch water main has begun within Sanborn Road that will extend from Fairview Avenue to Eucalyptus Drive — roughly 1.1 miles long. It will be constructed in phases beginning at Fairview, and ending at Eucalyptus. Construction began last week and is expected to be complete in approximately 3 months. Traffic controls for lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. To lessen the impact on traffic work in the intersections of John Street, E. Alisal street and E. Market Street will be done at night. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to destinations or travel outside of the construction times. Motorists should expect delays along the Sanborn Road corridor in the vicinity of work during construction.
