(Updated at 06:37) – A girl who went missing in Santa Cruz Sunday has been found dead. 8-year-old Madyson Middleton disappeared near the apartment complex at Tannery Arts Center on River Street shortly after 4 p.m. Her disappearance launched a collaborative response from multiple law enforcement agencies and the community assisted in search efforts county-wide. Shortly before 8 p.m. Monday night, officers found a body in a dumpster at the Tannery Arts Complex. Police believe the body is that of Madyson Middleton. A 15-year-old male suspect has been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
(Posted July 27 at 06:35) SANTA CRUZ – Santa Cruz police are searching for a girl who went missing Sunday. 8-year-old Madyson Middleton was last seen near the apartment complex at Tannery Arts Center on River Street shortly after 4 p.m. She is about 4 feet tall, weighs 48 pounds, and has long brown hair and blue eyes. Madyson, who also goes by Maddy, was last seen wearing a purple dress and black leggings and riding her white Razor scooter. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or contact Santa Cruz police.
