July 9, 2015: Sentencing Delayed for Transient Convicted in Attack in Santa Cruz

(07:13) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A sentencing hearing has been delayed for a transient found guilty of attacking two women in Santa Cruz. The incident occurred on Beach Street in July 2014. Officials say 26-year-old Joey Patino Hernandez, chased the two women and attempted to sexually assault one of the victims. In May, Hernandez was convicted of felony false imprisonment and attempted sexual penetration. He was to be sentenced Wednesday, but his attorney was not present. Hernandez will now be sentenced on July 15. (S.G.)
