July 8, 2015: Santa Cruz County Warns Community About PG&E Scam

(07:53) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Santa Cruz County officials are warning the public about a utility scam. Officials say individuals posing as PG&E employees have been calling business owners, claiming that they are late on paying energy bills. The scammers demand immediate payment and threaten to shut off the businesses’ power. PG&E is reminding customers that they can view their bill and make payments online at pge.com . Anyone who is a victim of this scam is encouraged to contact the county’s Consumer Affairs Division. (S.G.)
