(11:20) MONTEREY COUNTY – Monterey County officials have announced that no charges will be filed against the police officers involved in a fatal shooting in Salinas. Last July, police confronted 39-year-old Frank Alvarado after he allegedly set fire to his grandfather’s home. Alvarado ran toward officers holding up his arms as if to aim a weapon, prompting police to open fire. Investigators discovered Alvarado was unarmed and concluded he committed “suicide by cop”. The District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that the officers were justified in shooting Alvarado. (S.G.)
