(Updated at 08:15) – Watsonville police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred Friday. 27-year-old Carlos Vasquez was shot to death around 2 p.m. on the 900 block of Main Street. A man in a dark green SUV was seen leaving the area after the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. (S.G.)
(11:05) WATSONVILLE– A man was fatally shot in Watsonville Friday afternoon. Authorities say the incident happened at about 2 p.m. near the 900 block of Main Street where a lone gunman shot a man described as a transient in his thirties, once in the chest. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, his name is being withheld pending notification of family. The shooter may have fled in a dark green SUV.
