June 15, 2015: Salinas Police Investigating Two More Shootings in Long Weekend of Violence

(06:49) SALINAS – Salinas police are investigating two shootings that occurred Sunday. No one was injured in the first incident which took place shortly after 4:30 a.m. Officials say two men, ages 20 and 24, were traveling down Laurel Drive when a man in a maroon 4-door SUV began to follow them. He then shot at the two men in the intersection of Maryal Drive and Elwood Street. The shooter has been described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, with a thin build and short brown hair.  A man was injured in a second shooting in the evening. Officials say the victim was shot on Acosta Street. He was then transported to the hospital. These were the fourth and fifth shootings that occurred in Salinas over the weekend. (S.G.)
