(15:55) MONTEREY- A Black Bear was found roaming the streets of Monterey early Sunday morning. At about 5:30 a.m. police responded to reports of a bear on the 600 block of Lobos Street. On scene officers found the bear estimated to weigh about 250 lbs wander the area apparently forage for food. A special capture team with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was called in and the bear was tranquilized nearby at about 7:30 a.m. The bear will undergo an examination before being returned to the wild.
