(20:48) DAVENPORT– A pair of rescues took place on north Santa Cruz county beaches yesterday (Thursday). The first rescue happened after rising tide trapped a man on a rock at Panther Beach. At about 3:40 p.m. a Santa Cruz Fire Rescue swimmer pulled the man to safety, as a State Parks First Responder on a personal watercraft stayed ready. The second incident was at the base of a cliff near Davenport’s Main Beach, where a child with an injured ankle was pulled up the cliff by Cal Fire Crews.
