(18:06) SALINAS- A Salinas man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for committing lewd acts with a child. In November of last year, 24 year old Pedro Ruiz Lopez contacted a 12 year old girl on Facebook and instructed her on how to sneak out of her home and what to say if she were caught. When the teen was discovered missing from her bedroom a sibling uncovered Lopez’s instructions on the girl’s Facebook account accompanied by promises of marriage in Mexico. The family located the girl in the process of being molested by Lopez in a parked car. Lopez admitted to the instructions and molestation to the responding police officer. Lopez will be required to register a sex offender for life when he is released from prison.
