A Salinas fire left seven people displaced Friday morning. Officials say fire crews responded to a reported kitchen fire at the Northgate condominium complex on Cherokee Drive. On scene fire fighters quickly extinguished the first floor kitchen blaze before finding that it had spread to second story units. The blaze was reclassified a two alarm fire and seven more engines and firefighters arrived on scene containing the damage to a total of four residences. The Red Cross is helping to find temporary housing for the five adults and two children displaced. No injuries were reported.
