(18:15) SALINAS – 17 people were arrested this morning during a drug trafficking crackdown. Along with the arrests, 17 guns were seized and 2 pounds of methamphetamine were confiscated. The men and women who were arrested this morning face charges including: possession of narcotics for sale; narcotics trafficking and distribution, and conspiracy to distribute. They were booked into Monterey County Jail. Operation Quiet Riot was conducted after a 6-month-long investigation by officers with the Department of Justice, and a special Monterey county task force.
