A series of power outages affected Monterey County residents yesterday (Thursday). P,G & E officials say the first of eight power failures took place at about 2:15 p.m. The outages hit up and down Highway 101 From Gonzales to as far south as Lockwood. At this time the cause of the failures is unknown, and it is unclear when all power will be restored to the 12,300 affected customers.
