Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a suspicious package on the UCSC campus last night. A bomb team was dispatched to an area near Classroom Unit 1 and Steinhart Way shortly after 6 p.m. Around 7:30, a man was escorted to the scene to retrieve the object. Authorities then declared the area safe. Steinhart Way near Hahn Road was closed off during the investigation.
