An April 11th fire has left about 300 Soledad residents without gas service. P G & E crews turned off gas service to the area after workers notice a gas leak following a fire started by an unattended stove. The leak was repaired and passed a county inspection, but P G & E refused to restore service citing other safety concerns. Meanwhile residents are coping with bathing and washing dishes in cold water, as well as cooking issues.
