No one was injured when a beam collapsed this morning in a store in the Capitola Mall. Firefighters were able to mitigate the damage to the roof of the Kohl’s Department Store, and a Santa Cruz County Building Inspector was called out to assess the damage to the facility. The original call about roof damage, and rain coming in, was made to 9-1-1 just after 7 o’clock this morning.
