The National Weather Service Has Announced That Water Temperatures In The Monterey Bay May Be Returning To Normal -04/5/15 –1835-PMD

The National Weather Service has announced that water temperatures in the Monterey Bay may be returning to normal. Temperatures in the bay averaged nearly ten degrees higher than usual for the winter months. NWS officials say that recent high winds combined with natural up swelling are causing the deeper cooler nutrient rich waters to displace the warmer surface currents that are thought to be responsible for the disruption of the local food chain including the recent increase in malnourished seals.
