Calfire crews battled a half-acre vegetation fire in Prunedale today. The blaze began around 3 p.m. in a heavily wooded area located close to Highway 156 and McGuffie Road. Crews arrived on scene at approximately 4 p.m. and had the fire under control by 4:30. At that time, crews were still working to extinguish a few burning areas.
