A California start-up has invented a recyclable coffee cup that can be planted to grow trees. The San Luis Obispo-based company Reduce Reuse Grow has introduced a cup that is encased with seeds. Once they are disposed of in a specified bin, the company will plant the cups in three California nature parks. The new technology has been introduced in an effort to eliminate waste and revive forests at Shasta, Inyo, and Rancho Cuyamaca parks. Each Plantable Coffee Cup can grow one tree and biodegrades completely in 180 days.
