A Saturday Morning Duplex Fire Has Left 15 People Homeless In Salinas. Shortly after 9 a.m. Firefighters arrived to a reported fire at the corner of Amarillo Way and Nogal Drive. Fire crews from North Monterey county, the Presidio and the Regional districts were called in to help contain the blaze from spreading to nearby structures. The duplex was described as a total loss, two people received minor injuries. Officials say the fire may have been caused by a child playing with fire.
