A man was arrested for residential burglary in Seaside yesterday. At approximately 1 p.m., Seaside Police responded to reports of a suspicious man jumping over a backyard fence on the 1100 block of Amador Avenue. At the scene, Police located 21-year-old Robert Townsend, who ran into the vacant home to avoid arrest. Police eventually entered the residence and found Townsend hiding in the attic, where he surrendered. He was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail on charges of residential burglary.
