The Monterey County Film Commission is hopeful that the passing of a new bill will bring the film industry back to the area. The bill known as the California Film and Television Job Retention and Promotion Act allocated 330-million dollars over the next 5 years in an effort to curb the trend of filming in out of state locations that offer incentives to the film and television industry. The commission says filming in the Monterey Bay area would add greatly to local economies.
