UC Confirms Tuition will Not be Raised for Summer Session Students- 2/20/15 10:00 S.G.

Officials with the University of California have announced the system will not raise tuition for those enrolling in summer classes. Summer session students had anticipated paying more fees following the UC’s approval of a 5-year plan to increase tuition. UC President Janet Napolitano confirmed this week that summer students will not be subject to fee hikes. Napolitano made the announcement amid negotiations with Governor Jerry Brown. Both leaders have recently formed a committee to address the university’s financial responsibility. A preliminary report on their progress is expected to be released next month.
