National health insurer Anthem announced this week that their computer network has been the target of a cyberattack. The company discovered last week that hackers had gained access to personal information about millions of current and former customers. The insurer says credit card information wasn’t compromised. Affected brands include Anthem Blue Cross and Amerigroup. Yesterday, the company said they are currently working to improve its network defenses and that the FBI is investigating the data breach. The insurer will also provide free credit monitoring and identity protection services for all customers.
