The Capitola Police Department has announced the promotion of one of its officers. Senior Officer Marquis Booth was given the rank of Sergeant this week. Sergeant Booth has been with the department since August of 2005 and has held several positions including, Field Training Officer, Detective, and Lead Investigator. He will replace Sergeant Matt Eller, who retired in December. Sergeant Booth will be introduced to the city council at their next meeting.
