A Santa Cruz man was arrested after striking and killing a pedestrian last night. Officials say the incident occurred just after 7 at the intersection of Bay Street and West Cliff Drive. The victim and his wife were in the crosswalk when 24-year-old Robert Wright struck him. The wife was uninjured. Wright was arrested for felony DUI and felony vehicular manslaughter. He was booked into county jail with bail set at $100,000. West Cliff Drive was closed between Beach and Bay Streets for about 5 hours while officers conducted an investigation.
