According to Watsonville Police, the area surrounding the Economy Inn on Auto Drive in Watsonville is now safe to the public. 26-year-old Hugo Oviedo Sanchez was arrested around 2:30 p.m. after barricading himself inside the motel for over two hours. Watsonville Police, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the Joint Gang Task force assisted in Sanchez’s arrest.
