Four people were detained by Salinas police officers after one of them led law enforcement officers on a chase on Highway 101 yesterday. The afternoon incident began near Monterey and Market Streets, and wound its way onto Highway 101 and then back off again and then back on again, but in the wrong direction. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed. When the four people in the car tried to flee, they were caught by Salinas police officers.
